Discovery & Planning

Before we even touch a line of code or place a single image, every successful Shopify project starts here. This isn’t just a chat; it’s the crucial blueprint session where we fuse your brand’s vision with our digital expertise. We get under the hood of your business, your product, your target audience, and most importantly, your goals for growth.

What Happens in This Phase?

This phase is about eliminating guesswork and setting a course for creating something truly awesome and effective. We dive deep into five key areas:

  • Goal Alignment & Strategy. We’ll define exactly what “success” looks like for your new store. Is it a high conversion rate, maximum average order value, or a smooth migration from an old platform? We clarify the priorities and lock down the project scope to ensure we’re all focused on the same prize.
  • Brand & UX Deep Dive. You’ve got a great brand; we ensure it translates perfectly into a frictionless e-commerce experience. We review your existing assets, audience data, and competition to select the ideal Shopify theme (or map out the custom design) that aligns with your aesthetic and ensures your customers have an effortless journey.
  • App & Feature Audits. Every Shopify store needs apps, but not every store needs all the apps. We audit your desired functionality—from subscriptions and loyalty to review systems and email marketing integration—to select only the essential, high-performing tools that deliver maximum value without cluttering the site or eating into your profits.
  • Content & Data Mapping. We finalize your site map and define the core page layouts. Crucially, we work with you to plan the required content, product organization, and how we’ll structure your catalogue for both user experience and strong SEO from the outset.
  • Technical Setup & Project Launch. We handle the initial technical groundwork: setting up your Shopify account, purchasing and installing any premium themes, connecting the domain, and configuring the essential settings to greenlight the build. The planning is done, the scope is signed off, and the fun truly begins.

Phase Deliverables

By the time this phase concludes, you’ll have a clear roadmap and the technical foundation for success.

  • Finalised Scope of Work (SOW). The written and agreed-upon blueprint that dictates the entire build.
  • Theme Selection & Purchase: The premium or free theme that will serve as the canvas for your new store.
  • Key App Recommendations. A confirmed list of third-party apps and integrations to be implemented.
  • Site Map & Wireframe Direction. A clear plan of what pages exist and how a user flows through the store.
